Muddy Bloke on Hackney Marsh

The squad

Meet the players who have made their own personal pilgrimages across the muddy wastelands of this green and pleasant lands finest council recs. A lifetime of early Sunday mornings and cold showers await he who bravely dons the claret & blue in search of his own personal utopia.

Chris Eappariello
One of the original irons members Chris can be found plying his trade down the left flank. Quick, tricky, and still manages to head the ball at least once every season.

Peter Robinson
In the squad from the off, Peter has been banging them in regularly ever since as one of our centre forwards. Likes to keep us amused by missing a sitter every now and then.

Kirk Greenway
Joined as a no-nonsense centre-back, now manages the team. Strong in the tackle and quick thinking. Enjoys a goalline clearance or two nearly as much as a beer.

Paul Newman
Midfield powerhouse who suffered a horrendous injury in our first ever game but recovered to secure a vital role in the irons midfield. Tucks his shirt inside his shorts.

Khris Raistrick
Khris Joined the irons at the tail end of 1998 and is regularly employed on the right side. Scorer of the odd blinder here and there. The Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen of the internet irons.

Phil Noise
Partner in crime with Peter Robinson, Phil is another original member of the squad. Scores goal for fun and is unstoppable on his day. Sports the finest head of hair this side of Maine Road.

George Savva
6'4" George is one of the squad's utility players who can fill in as required. Big bloke who enjoys nothing more than scoring for the irons.

Matt Williams
Matt was originally a stalwart in the irons defence. However, the lure of a trip to Oz proved too much and our very own eco-warrior can now be found selling copies of the Big Issue on the streets of Sydney. Or something like that.

Graeme Howlett
Graeme joined the side as a midfielder, but has played 99% of games in the sweeper role. Likes to get on the scoresheet. Is rumoured to be under contract to make at least one 'Howlett's Howler' per game.

Dan Hart
Plays left back or in the centre. Technics wielding Dan suffered a serious knee injury in 1999 which threatened his glittering career, however briefly. The internet irons Terminator - minus the sweet left foot.

Darren Pasley
Big Pas plays in goal for the irons, and is arguably the best stopper in internet football. Never afraid to go in where it hurts, whether faced with a big striker - or an even bigger Northern lass.

Dan O'Rourke
The original irons keeper, Dan's career was sadly cut short following a shoulder popping incident in Birmingham. Occasionally turns out these days for a Cameo role up front. Oh yes, codpiece and all ...

Rob Ornee
The first iron to play for internet England, Rob generally plays 'in the hole', from where he has scored hatfuls of goals. Also prone to the odd 'Howlett's Howler'.

Martin Drury
A tough tackling right-sided defender, Martin has cemented his place in the first XI since joining in 1999. Would you buy a mobile phone from this man?

Junior
Talented goalscoring midfielder who once had a brief flirtation with pro football. Burst onto the irons scene at M'Duck '99. Man of few words who lets his feet do the talking.
