"Looking at the record books it's easy to believe that something was going to go wrong because of our poor record at The Dell and in some respects I am a little bit superstitious about that."
Frank Lampard Jnr

"What the FA are saying effectively is that it's alright to call the ref a **** and gob in his boat, but woe betide you if use a gesture that has little meaning to all but the most easily offended these days."

"Two footy supporters living next to me support Leicester and Villa. My theory is that if Leicester beat Villa and we beat Leicester, we’re the best and I have delighted in showing the Leicester goals over and over and over again."
Matt McDonald

"Four years ago you'd wait all season for a moment of jaw dropping magic; today the likes of Di Canio, Cole and Sinclair churn them out every time they play. Pure moments of magic that linger longer than any defeat."
Chris Tye

"I think like everyone who supports the Hammers I was in deep depression for the rest of the week. I haven't felt so crushed since Miss Right decided she was Miss Right, but perhaps for someone else. "
Dan O'Rourke

"'Let the rhythm start to play, dance with me, make me sway' the sound of teenage pop pervades the still autumnal night and reinforces my theory of the parallels between dance and football."
Alison Leahy

"And then, to cap it all our East London Boys put the Totts to the sword and showed them up as the Bleedin' Liabilities they really are. Anyone who was there knows how Bloody Lovely it was."

Our best Ever?

Been too busy with university coursework to write any articles…I could moan about this for hours, whilst on the subject I could also ramble on about various WHU related curiosities and joys. Instead I shall briefly raise the points and leave it at that.

It’s coming to something when Harry can quote the current team as being the best ever. Bearing this in mind, imagine how we could be better than better if Margas was actually played.

Now, we know Harry bears grudges, but surely this can go too far. He is such a good quality player with so many achievements. Dumping such an expensive/quality player on the bench or even reserves, would also drag his value down, for the typical sell good players for sh*te money. Also imagine the poor guys confidence when he sees Ruddock trot out instead!!!!

Now, if Mr Ruddock is reading this I will stress that he was unexpectedly good when he first arrived, as backup/short-term cover. He must realise that he has neither the pace, fitness, nor the ability, to compete. However, as long as Harry gives him the odd few games he knows he’s safe. I wonder if there is any way for us to invite Wimbledon to buy him off us for £8million??

Hooray finally we have got a striker. Feel sorry for Wanchope who has been barracked by many fans, but doesn’t always play too bad. Amidst rumours that he is off to Leicester, it is particularly good that we have young Kanoute. I remember the name from a few years ago, excellent youth player. In the Wimbledon game alone, he slotted straight into the gaping hole we have had up front and applied some magical touches for the side and both he and Di Canio complimented each other well.

Another impeccable game from Sinclair and the team performance was excellent, this time we had the finishers to complete the game.

Here’s to a long and prosperous partnership. Good goals, Di Canio’s was spectacular. The guy sitting near me at home games, used to shout “come on Frenchman!” at Keller (before he too disappeared like Margas.) Guess he’ll be shouting again.

Unfortunately there are a few rumours and suspicions that the board would gobble up most of the Wanchope fee for the ground re-developments. Next thing we know the staff will have to pay to work there!!!

Next, my two-penny worth on defence:

With Margas, Stimac and Rio in defence… ideally.

When the 2 Pearces return (always play better with them.) They should be slotted in.. AND RIO SHOULD BE SWEEPER He is suited to this task greatly. His distribution is well flighted and passed, yet we still see him passing to Ruddock, who hoofs it to their defence, or loses it through lack of pace.

Same as the Sinclair argument. I believe it is right for him to be on the wing, but used as striker cover.

If we can get two quality players like Di Canio and Kanoute up front, yet still have a position for Sinclair, in which he plays the best in the country then great. If we can have Pearcex2, Margas, Stimac AND Rio all on the field but covering the necessary areas then we could be unbeatable.

The players listed above, but jiggled around a bit.

Finally a question of logic; The Di Canio goal: Goal of the season??? Or will it be a 2yd Shearer header.

Remembering the season when M.Hughes scored a 35yd screamer and was not even a contender. Majority of candidates are tap-ins/short headers, by Cole, Shearer blah blah blah!

Rob Harris - I can’t go without mentioning him after Sunday’s game. How is this guy still reffing….or not in his case!

After being relegated from the lowest table of ref ratings, where does he go? Radio..“ How many blatant penalties, can he miss!!” Is he friendly with a female/male official, which has both kept his job and prevented him being investigated?

Why doesn’t he just close his eyes and wear an ‘I hate WHU’ t-shirt?

Rolf Harris could do a better bloody job!!

Besides, the didgery-doo would make an interesting change from the whistle.

Matt
